Travel to Wilmington to capture a wedding along the historic downtown riverside? ABSOLUTELY!! Even better… for the wedding of Jess & Chad? Without a doubt, YES!! You may remember Jess & Chad from their Engagement & Bridal sessions earlier this year… they’re a couple that I simply adore to pieces! I was quite honored that they asked & trusted in me to capture such an important day of their memories. LOL – they are so sweet, they even insisted that I bring along my hubby & not the kids, so that WE could get a mini weekend away in the process!
It couldn’t have been any more beautiful of a weekend! The weather was as perfect as it could be, the family & friends in attendance were so fun & delightful and wow, did Jess do a fabulous job with so many little details (& we all know, I appreciate some attention on the details & special touches!). We arrived in town, just in time for the rehearsal – where Jess had even arrived in an adorable creme eyelet dress & blue sandals to go with her colors! After the rehearsal, we all had a nice little walk through historic downtown Wilmington for a back patio pizza & beer luncheon. On Sunday, Jess & her Dad arrived in a classic car to meet her beaming groom, closest family & friends for their outside deck ceremony with music being played by Jess’s brother-in-law. The deck was decorated with fun summer colored pinwheel & sand bucket details and later turned into a fun space for guests to play cornhole (how cool is that?!). The reception was filled with more fun – from centerpieces named after the restaurants they dated at to cupcake desserts to a surprise “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” dance by the bride & her sister/maid of honor to Chad dancing a Frozen song with Jess’s daughter, Grace… just to name a few things! The day even ended with the perfect touch – a music filled trolley ride through downtown Wilmington and on to the hotel.
I warn you, this is by far my longest blog post ever but in my defense, it is from a full weekend with SO much fun to share – it was ridiculously hard to narrow down to this selection as it was. Enjoy!! 🙂 …
