JMP Fab Grad Spokesmodel Spotlight… Robin!!

Congratulations to Robin Kikuchi, Ravenscroft School Class of 2015, on being hand selected as one of my Fab Grad Spokesmodels! It’s been so wonderful to work with her & have her as part of this very limited group! I can’t even begin to express how genuinely thrilled I am to have such an extraordinary & fabulously unique young lady representing my work and really wanted to share with y’all just a piece of all that makes her so fabulous…

Robin is well, let’s just say, beyond impressive… mind blowingly impressive, even! She is without a doubt the most interesting young lady I’ve ever had the privilege to meet & get to know and I’d even go as far as to say that she’s totally the kinda girl I wish I’d had the confidence to be in high school. She is academically brilliant, beautiful in both appearance & personality, diverse in her interests, creative and oh so very confident in her alternative styles & interests (that don’t necessarily correspond with what some might assume/expect of someone with her other interests)! She describes herself in three words as Unique, Academic & Fun. Despite her serious impressiveness, I found her to be equally down to earth, real and most certainly kind & thoughtful as well! I have personally enjoyed her texts back & forth planning our session ideas & logistics… the genuine personal interest & excitement that she took in our project really meant a lot to me! She even made me chuckle one day, taking the time to text me a shot of a simple “Jen” coke bottle while she was away for college interviews! SO SWEET!

Robin tries to dress true to her alternative skater/punk style in a toned down but still fun & different way as often as possible, also totally committing by maintaining her fun (& gorgeous) punk/skater hairstyle. She is mature enough, however, to realize that this is not a shallow thing to notice about her as she tries to be “fiercely myself at all times; therefore, I believe seeing my sense of style helps people get to know my quirky personality.” Understanding there’s a time & place for everything, she also likes to dress in a classy & high fashion manner when the need arises. Her friendships include the kids who like to be who they are, uninfluenced by the opinions of others… LOVE that!! Academics are HUGE in her life & she has in fact been dubbed the Top Scholar of her class for both Sophomore & Junior years! You go girl!! She is also a state champion archer & as an equestrian, competes as an eventer with her mare, Nikki.

Fun & Fab Scoop on Robin’s FAV things:

    • “Words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light fires in the minds of men. Words can wring tears from the hardest hearts.” Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

A big part of Robin’s interests includes Cosplay… Robin defines this as, “followers of anime, star trek, etc often choose favorite characters with whom they relate. Then they build a costume of that character that is as accurate as they can manage given their skill level and budget”. One of her favorite things to do in her free time is to design cosplays herself!! In the past she has cosplayed CC from Code Geass, Mikassa Ackerman from Attack on Titan, Raven from Teen Titans, Pikachu from Pokemon, Haruhi Suzumiya from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Female Iron Man. She is planning to add Arcanine from Pokemon, Suicune from Pokemon, Blake from Ruby & Kirito’s Gun Gale Online Avatar from Sword Art Online in this coming season!! (let’s hope I spelled all those correctly ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). In fact, her dream vacation is to go to the San Diego ComiCon, including Cosplaying her favorite characters & “getting to experience the biggest trends in the nerdom”.

Robin’s future dreams include attending her dream college as a premed student, or some other science field. Ideally, she would like to be a neurosurgeon, which has been her admirably ambitious dream for years already! She fell in love with science by being exposed to programs like NITARP (a research program through NASA). Regardless of her field, she has been quite moved by the Women in Sciences movement and plans to be in a profession that adds her own mark!

“Without further ado”, here are some highlights of this stunning & fabulous girl’s images from our session. I actually even had a little time to play around with some editing techniques on a few of her images, adding a little uniqueness & flair, fitting of her (in particular, her powerful but still feminine archery ones – just love what they represent!!!). Hope you enjoy! :)…

If you see Robin around school or elsewhere… stop & say “HI!”! You’ll be so glad that you did! You can also drop her a comment or note here, on her proofs page or Facebook spotlight post. Jen,

Wow!! You have written such a lovely article about Robin. It is great to see her through your words. I think you should add “writer” bag of tricks! I love the photos. The new effects are really striking. Thank you so much for choosing Robin as one of your spokes-models this year.

    Robin,
You look so beautiful. The images not only show you in various situations, but also capture different aspects of your personality in your facial expressions and stance. Amazing.
