Fab Grad VIP… Calli Brielle McIntyre! Pinecrest High School‘s Class of 2019 Superstar!
Another of our Class of 2019 Fab Grad Spokesmodels, you’ve learned a lot about Calli’s interests & MANY accomplishments in the Feature Blog last year & her Sweet 16 Sess with us the year before. Now it’s time to take a look at her individual session & the stories behind it…
When we met for Calli’s session consult meeting, she sat down & said “here’s my vision!”… she had every detail thought out from one look to the next, location… the works! She was quite clear on what she wanted to achieve & I LOVED every single bit of it!!! The entire session would be a beautiful flow of stylized period pieces. When I asked, just to make sure, if she wanted any “everyday looks”, without blinking Calli’s response was “I’m a theatre girl – this is my everyday look”… and I just melted! YES, PLEASE!!! And we knew exactly which of my Hair & Make-up artists was the woman for this job… our Denise, of course! Everything about this vision was right up both of our alleys and we couldn’t wait to team up again for it!!
Another key factor to Calli’s vision was having it in her hometown of Pinehurst & Southern Pines. I hadn’t travelled for a Senior session before but was so very happy to do so, especially when there’s this much significance for it. This is where Calli has grown up, has SOOO many cherished memories and where her heart is. More specifically, she wanted to hold the session at Sunrise Theatre. See, Calli is a mega multi-talented young lady… she sings, she dances, she acts… the stage itself is her home as much as this town. We were very lucky to have support from Sunrise Theatre and were able to proceed with capturing her dream… Her mom was even able to work out getting the marquee customized for our session time, making it all the more special!
So EARLY on a late July morning, Denise, my mini-assistant Lizzy & I set out for Pinehurst! We got Calli ready at her mom’s office and then scooted right on over to the adorable town of Southern Pines where we began with capturing Calli in a delightful red polka dotted 50’s look. We did this one entirely outside… capturing the theatre as her backdrop, along the line of shops and at the beloved train station. This was her ‘La La Land’ inspired vibe! We then proceeded in to the beautiful theatre where we captured an old Hollywood glam look… from robe & fluffy slippers (though they don’t show – even the details of her clothes under the robe were so very vintage feeling shorts & tank) with all the perfect vintage inspired prep accessories in the dressing room to an elegant black gown & long pearls gracing the lobby and stage! These looks were inspired by one of Calli’s great Aunts, Bonita Granville… among other roles, the very first Nancy Drew! She’s lucky she didn’t share this correlating fact with me until we were already in the midst of the session or we would have been there hours (or maybe days 😉 ) longer recreating more of her fabulous 30’s & 40’s images! Lastly, we wrapped up with some fun of the Roaring 20’s! Flapper dress, head piece & oh my, the most perfect pin curls! I told her I wasn’t going to pose her, I just wanted to her to do HER thing & I would capture it… and that she did! She started dancing & lit up that theatre with her genuine joy of that stage!
Each & every one of these looks was quite special & meaning filled! Her mom saw to it that every accessory & detail was covered with perfection. And ohhhh how we all had the most wonderful time! And Calli herself… the most radiant, relaxed & happy I’ve ever seen her! I’ve gotten to spend time with her in an array of atmospheres from casual no make-up teen to powerhouse of the Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen stage over the last couple years, but I’m pretty positive this day & this very experience with her will always be, by far, my very favorite!
