I was quite honored last year when asked to become an official sponsor of the Miss North Carolina‘s Outstanding Teen 2014. My daughter, Lizzy & I even got to attend the pageant (our first), where among all the other extraordinary things going on… there was this AMAZING tap talent that blew us both away and stood out very vividly! As it would turn out… that very talent came from the outstanding young lady who was later crowned that night… Karson Fair!
As a sponsor, I had the privilege of getting to meet up with Karson in downtown Raleigh to capture her here in the capital of our state. This time we also got to work with Miss North Carolina 2014, Beth Stovall… capturing the girls together & also individually. And I must say… these exceptional young ladies certainly have an amazing bond that was a pleasure to be around and natural to capture! As luck would have it, our session came at the end of a week where I’d seriously pulled out my back for the first time and was still dealing with a fair amount of pain. Yet, they made it so enjoyable that I was surprised when we’d completed what we needed & found myself wanting to stay out and continue shooting!
Thanks so much for a great afternoon ladies! I’m so glad I got the opportunity to meet & work with both of you and will look forward to a time when we might have opportunity to work together again! A little something extra special about this session…
When I arrived to this session in March thinking I was simply there to capture the girls in their capital, I was quite surprised to find their awesome marketing director also present. After meeting, he let me know how much he loved my session with Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen 2013, Emili and discussed images that I would capture for the pageant program’s Table of Contents this year! What?! THAT was quite a surprise! With all the amazing, well established photographers they work with, I have been absolutely humbled & blown away by the interest, support, appreciation and opportunities that this organization has brought to me! THANK YOU!!
My Lizzy & I recently got to enjoy our second Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen Pageant where my girl got to see her Mama’s work. Right where he said it would be – Table of Contents in front! We got to see Karson take the stage again (and yes, she performed that tap number too! 😀 ) and also got to see our friend Kevin do a fabulous dance number with her and this years contestants that literally got Lizzy dancing & cheering VERY enthusiastically in the aisles!!
