A couple months ago, I had the privilege of these two fabulous young ladies coming by the studio for a session… Marissa, our Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen 2017 and Abigayle, her Carolina Princess!
Marissa & Abby arrived in sweet matching outfits that just screamed Spring – blue tops with white stripes & lacey trim, white skinny jeans & sandals. I knew we had to go outside for these! It was extremely sunny that day so they are most definitely ‘sun kissed’ here 😉 but we worked it out pretty well under the circumstances. As luck would have it, we were also in the most perfect time of year for the blossoming trees in the parking lot to be in full bloom… the perfect touch for our backdrop of sweetness! We then went inside for a more formal cocktail dress look… black with a touch more blue!
I had the opportunity to work with Marissa before for her holiday card image with our Miss North Carolina, but this was the first time I got to work with Abby or them together. Getting to see these two interact with each other was pretty awesome… they have a bond that goes way back before this year’s title! They have been dance sisters & pageant pairs for years and the relationship they’ve built over that time shows! Since our session, this week at the Miss North Carolina pageant itself… I have had much more opportunities to get to know Abby & her mom and more so, for my own Carolina Princess to get to know them and ohhh how we ADORES them! Abby has certainly learned well what it is to be a mentor and leader in this program and is carrying on that role beautifully!!
Once we had our duo session completed, Marissa was kind enough to slip into this beautiful gown she’d brought from another one of her awesome sponsors, Foxy Lady, so that I could grab some new images for my program book ad. And wow! I absolutely LOVE what we captured!!! I didn’t know her at the beginning of the year, but I can imagine the growth that comes along with a title like this and the opportunities it holds… and Marissa certainly radiated confidence, strength, joy and beauty in our session!!! Y’all will most definitely be seeing more of these images – one has even already become the ‘cover girl’ for my brand new Pageant Client Guide!

CONGRATULATIONS to both Marissa & Abby on a beautiful year! You and your parents have much to be proud of and I’m sure so many memories to last a lifetime! I can’t wait to follow along and see what the future holds next for each of you!
