You may remember our #ExistInPortraits Contest that was run this Summer? Well, we had a wonderfully surprising number of entrants and drew the fabulous… Tracey as our winner! Tracey had been encouraged to enter our contest by Kathy who y’all met back in the Spring and we’re SO glad that she did.

Tracey is a busy entrepreneurial woman… She is a Collector & Artist for Patina South, “a collection of art & urban thrift for you & your home”, everything is handpicked or made by her. She loves gathering items from flea markets, antique shops & other second hand spots, and are therefore… one of a kind! Hand in hand with this, she is also a Partner in Pop-Up Raleigh, a monthly outdoor vintage market and The Handmaidens, a collective of fiveĀ North Carolina artists, designers and crafters who create handcrafted adornments for body and home. As part of her work with the Handmaidens, she also helps run Urban Vintage, another pop up style shopping experience that combines the best antiques, junk, industrial found objects and more in downtown Raleigh. You can even catch some of her items at Suzanna’s Antiques too! I don’t know how she does it all but I am certainly impressed & in awe! Luckily she & her fav fella have their dream home, a small farm well outside of the city near Asheboro to relax & treasure the calmer moments of life!

Tracey chose to have her session at Fred Fletcher Park in Raleigh. In addition to it always being a wonderfully classic & beautiful spot, it also held a special place in her family history from the time it was the Methodist Home for Children. It was her genuine, charming, fun personality and warm smile that stood out throughout the entire session though! When she & her mom came for the reveal – it was all the images with smiles that they naturally gravitated to & loved most! So often people seem to not like or shy away from their smile & I don’t know why (though, totally guilty myself) and I LOVE that she knows & embraces her smile as her feature! Though she has many wonderful features, this is the one that people are met with as their first impression of her… and it is lasting! With only a few meetings, we simply ADORE Tracey already and know y’all will too!

We are so pleased about each & every applicant that put themselves out there to apply & consider existing in portraits themselves! THANK YOU! Like many of us, Tracey was admittedly, also a bit hesitant to get in front of the camera but as you’ll see below, she now has images that radiate with her beauty & personality… images that will proudly last forever! Whether through us or our other talented professional peers, we hope that the idea of women existing in beautiful quality professional portraits themselves, will grow & grow!
